.2009 MARC Membership Meet
The 2009 MARC Membership Meet will be hosted by the Gold Mine Region on March 26-28, 2009 in Marietta, Georgia. Marietta is located in the Atlanta suburbs approximately 20 miles north of downtown. The Gold Mine Region is really excited about hosting this Meet. This will be the first MARC national event held in Georgia since 1978. Marietta has many things to see and do, as does the surrounding area. Marietta's five National Register Hiistoric Districts can be explored with a self guided walking tour and there is even a guided ghost walk. Art abounds at the Marietta-Cobb Museum of art and local galleries. Marietta is very proud of it's three heritage museums - the Marietta Gone with the Wind Museum - Scarlett on the Square, the Marietta Museum of History, and the Root House Museum.
The Host Hotel, The Marietta Conference Center is a 200 guest room, five star resort. Amentities include swimming, tennis, and an 18 hole golf course located on the property. The historic Marietta Square is a short drive from the hotel. It is filled with quaint shops, theatre, wonderful restaurants around a turn-of -the-century town square.
In addition to the usual events; meetings, seminars, welcome party, and banquet, we will have many self guided tours for your driving pleasure. Tours will be available to the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield, to the Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History, to the Concord Bridge Historic District, to the Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville, and to Bullock Hall, Smith Plantation, and Barrington Hall located in Roswell, Georgia.
Come and experience the history of the South, the cuisine that has made the South famous, and the ever present Southern Hospitality. The City of Atlanta is a short drive south of Marietta and is rich with cultural, historic, and sporting venues.

Since 1999 the host regions of MARC national meets have provided a factory employee type meet badge as a souvenir to commemorate their meet. This type of meet badge was not provided at the Dallas 3rd World Meet. During the Dallas meet, MARC received many inquiries regarding this type meet badge for Dallas. As a result MARC has ordered a limited number of these meet badges for Dallas, they are for sale exclusively through the MARC office.
